Hi, not sure if this is in the right place to ask this question, but can anyone tell me if I can freeze runner beans? Is there any thing I should do to them first like blanching?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. Either blanched - for longer storage - or not.
But I'm get more & more disenchanted with the process. Broad Beans, Peas, Romanesco Broccoli etc - yes, but not a lot else.
I think if you intend to eat stuff fairly soon you can skip the blanching. It stops enzyme activity and allows you to store things longer.
Thanks for the replies!
Some is going in my belly in about an hour, the rest I will blanch and freeze, cos I dont know when they will get eaten! :)
We used to Blanch reliigiously but have stopped and not seen any noticable deterioration in eating quality..

I have never blanched any vegetables I have frozen, and they keep perfectly the year round. I still have a few packets of last year`s broad and runner beans in perfect condition which I have to eat before I start on this year`s.
