Non allotment photos huh, I should take my camera tomorrow, there is a grogeous huge bed of sweetpeas which smell devine, and Jack says I can help myself as much as I like, then there is another huge row of dark red sweet williams, and Roy said cut as many as you please, lots of plots, including ours, have sunflowers coming up. The flowers on my spuds, toms and rocket are as pretty as a picture, and as lots of you pointed out in my earlier question about edible flowers, so many of the flowers we are photographing are edible, so they have a rightful place on the site! :P :P
What is it with all this argy-bargying about gardens -v- allotment photos ::) After all Dan is the founder and controller of this site and if he is happy with the way things are, then I think that is all that matters. There are many on-going threads about edible plants (ie: allotments) so what is the problem Fingle :-\
I havent got a problem with pictures of flowers..i like em.
I just think there should be a sort of sub-section for gardens / flowers.
Its a bit boring trailing through endless posts from people showing off their chrysanthimums, with the ubiquitous "ooh arent they wonderful"'s

There are 20 forums here for posting, only one of those is a Gallery (sub heading.."pictures of interest") what may interest one person may not interest another..live and let live. What's so difficult about searching through the posts to find what you are looking for? The title usually gives away what's been posted.
Hope this isn't going to turn into griping flame-wars like The Kitchen Garden forum did.
It just annoys me when it got a title like "something from today" and you wait for ages and all that loads up is flowers.
I dont mind the pictures id just kinda like to know what they are.,

I love the flower pictures and the plot pictures equally - I do remember months and months ago somebody suggesting that within each forum rather than just titling our new topic 'help please' etc. we actually gave more of a clue of the topic subject - this was to help people scrolling through looking for a specific veg for example. Perhaps Fingle's comments were more related to this idea than actually being negative about people's piccies. I'm not competent enough to do the picture thing - but I'm working on it and will join in as soon as I learn how!
and by the way Fingle - who or what is 'heskey' and why should he/she/it be blamed?

Live and let live; If you cant cope with the fact that this is not solely an allotment site, and that some of us have gardens in which we grow both vegies and flowers then find a site that suits you better. Nobody else out of the 700+ members seem to mind, and if they do, I assume they they go and find a different site. To most of us, including Dan I presume as he has not stopped or commented on the flowers in the gallery, the flowers are the produce of our lotties and gardens of which we are mighty proud, and most members seem to love looking at them as most of us enjoy all aspects of gardening.
So, there you go, just try and take a deep breath and gloss over the posts that dont apply to you. Me, I am not into ponds, but that doesnt mean that people shouldnt post about them!

I agree live and let live for goodness sake, life is to short to worry about who posts what . Just enjoy the very beautiful flower pictures OR you will have to find a site for yourself ,that only does what YOU want. CHILL OUT FINGLE. see the beauty in everything.
