Title: Tomato blight
Post by: Daisy on July 17, 2007, 21:43:25
I'm not sure buy i think my tomatoes have the first signs of blight, however they have red tomatoes on them. Is it ok to eat the toms or should i just trash them all? Any advice appreciated.

Eat the toms, blight kills tomatoes not humans, if the tomatoes are black and rotten the you would not eat them anyway.

If the tomatoes have any brown on the skin, cut them in half and have a good sniff- you'll soon be able to see if their flavour has been tainted.
I cook the tomatoes from blighted plants so if the odd tainted one does get in with a batch, it's not so noticeable.
