I needed a red onion for a recipe, and went & lifted one of mine, even though it is a bit early. It was a decent size, and deep red - on the outside.
When I peeled it, only the skin was red, the flesh was pure white.
Is this normal? Will it change as they mature? or have I simply picked a bad variety?
I'm not sure what variety it was - picked them because the sets looked good.
It is due to the variety? My sets are the same.
