Title: fruit tree cuttings
Post by: debster on July 15, 2007, 14:13:45
this is probably a strange request and not sure how the co ordination of it would would work but people like me who keep parrots and birds in general are always on the look out for branches and twigs from fruit trees (not treated with pesticides) for natural branches and chewy toys for our beloved pets. if anyone would be willing to donate some when they prune their trees i could offer them on the parrot forum i belong to i would ensure that whoever wants them collects them. its just that we try and keep things as natural as possible for our little and large birdies and i know they would be greatly appreciated  ;D

I havent because i have a supply i was just trying to link people with a supply and demand for what effectively is garden waste. plus this way people could be sure no pesticides have been used but it is certainly a good thought

Right, i see what you mean now - sorry.

We went to see Shrek 3 with my little girls on Friday and to kill time before the film we went to the aviary in the gardens. The girls were overjoyed to meet a parrot that said 'Hello lovie' 'hello' and 'beg your pardon'. He was fantastic, they stood there for half an hour yelling hello at him and he very obligingly replied every time!!
