Title: Bordeaux Mixture
Post by: newbies on July 11, 2007, 12:55:23
Hi experts,
Sorry to ask such a dumb question, but is this bordeaux mix something you can buy in the shop, as I have googled it, and haven't had much luck.
Or, do you mix it up? :)

You can buy it ready mixed at most garden centres - it's usually in an orange coloured  container

I just googled "bordeaux mixture" and got 1,400 hits  ??? - the top one was the Organic Catalogue http://www.organiccatalog.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=61_181&products_id=517

All of my little nurseries and garden centres sell it.  A couple of quid for a plastic tube of the stuff.  Blue powder.  You can dust with it, or mix it with water.  It goes further if you mix it.  It won't cure blight though, if you have blight on your toms or spuds it won't go away.  Bordeaux will only provide a protective coating, shrugging off the blight spores, until it rains and washes the bordeaux away.

I buy it in the form of Murphy's Copper Fungicide. It comes in the form of individual sachets, 10 in a box.
