Title: Shrubs gone red!
Post by: lillian on July 08, 2007, 17:52:10
All my Viburnums, dogwoods, and various other shrubs have gone red. Any idea what the problem could be?

Might be a case of your plants are out of sync ???

After all one could argue that we had summer in April and Autumnal weather since.

Sorry I can't be of more help!

Just to let you know, I have a Clematis Armandii which flowered earlier this year as normal, but has recently put on tons of new growth which is red - and is covered in flower buds as well, so I'm getting a second flowering. I've never noticed this particular Clemmy having new growth this colour before, so I don't know if it's a seasonal glitch or not.

do you mean the leaves have tinged pink ?  chap on my site said it was due to stress!

these plants don't know they're born, if i want to know about stress, i can tell them.

;D

Some of my geraniums have gone red(leaves) they are the ones that are in a in shade/drought\wind tunnel ,I did read that it
was stress, like MrsKP mentions they just need to pull themselves together and get over it.

Red leaves can be a sign that the roots are waterlogged.. and given the rain we've been having lately, wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
