Title: Gardening Programmes
Post by: SnooziSuzi on July 06, 2007, 23:00:38
Is it just me or are there just too many garden make over programmes and not enough gardening programmes?

Since getting my lottie I have searched out as much info as I can but the majority of programmes I can find (mainly on UKTV Gardens) are either garden quiz shows or Ground Force type shows which make over a garden by going to the GC and paying a fortune or some old guy wandering around formal gardens talking in latin? ???

Of the 2 recent allotment / veg growing shows that have been on; The Big Dig and Dig for Victory, neither of these really showed many tips or tricks, and don't even get me started on Gardeners World!!!  >:(

Is it too much to ask for a programme, like GW, where they show you what to do and when but for veg growing only and perhaps mingling in a bit of allotment kept animals like chickens or geese (I'm sure a lot of you have other animals on your lotties) without filling up the time with pretty flower shows etc...

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

Rant off!

I like a few flowers Suzi, but as I don't watch tv I don't have any call on GW or the rest...

Well you cant please all the people all the time, I would be moaning if they showed too many veggies, as I like the pretty flowers. Although makeovers do get boring after a while. But the old boy talking latin is a lot more entertaining than the bag lady scoffing veg.

There are no real gardening programmes on TV just people planting potted plants from the garden centre,
