Which is best? I've got a bit of uneven ground where the grass is growing on the boundaries. And the hand shears are dull, it will cost the same as buying a new one. So I'm willing to push the boat out and buy electric ones. Any excuse to spend money. ;D
I got a cheap battery one frm argos for 24 quid...works a treat...charge lasts for about 40-60 mins !!
My B&D battery strimmer is a godsend down the plot (which borders onto fields) and keeps the grass and weeds down a treat.
Hi Kenkew,
After months of researching and thinking about this I was lucky enough to borrow a Black and Decker
rechargable strimmer from an allotment friend last week. It was heavier than I had imagined, and it struggled to make an impact on my weediest areas but on paths, edges and other less-neglected areas it coped fine. The plot looked great aftwards so I was pleased with it and now I *really* want one.
(I just have to find the money)

fingle, does that strimmer automatically feed out more line, or do you need to stop and manually feed more out?
The 12volt B&D one feeds line when you tap iy on the ground. No need to stop working.
seems to self feed

looks very cheap compared to the Black & Decker one (mind you, B&D is always expensive)....
how does it handle on tougher grass, weeds etc.?
gets thru long grass, bindweed, nettles, the lot.
established brables can get a bit tricky but on the whole its a great little
