Last night I watched the Hampton court show on the telly. Carol Klien aka 'the bag lady' was moaning about that there were no veggies in the flowerbeds of the Daily mail garden. There was a huge veggie patch around the back of the house, but I don't suppose she would have been allowed to go around there, as the greedy pig always scoffs anything that is within her reach.
Why would you want to plant veggies in a nice flower bed when half the garden is a veggie patch. Stupid woman!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Think of the ooooohhhh she would have let out if she had seen it. :-X ;D ;D
I shouted at the TV as well, Ace. She [or the researcher writing the script] obviously hadn't had a good look at the garden at all. Anyway I am off to Hampton Court in the morning armed with wet wether gear!
;D O.K emmy1978 you have won, what plant stall.
Weather is supposed to be good tomorrow, looks like you picked the best day.

Well GV i might just not tell you!! It is for school fair. My first venture as charitable mummy and I blame the whole thing on Sarah as it was her idea.
Great emmy1978, hope you make £££££££££££££s
Well, what was she wearing today! somebody aught to say something. At least she wasn't filling her face. Talking about faces, If my dog had a face like hers I would shave his backside and teach him to walk backwards.
She was wearing a skimpy bright green top with a long frou frou scarlet skirt. She looked like a freshly pulled vegetable ::). Her sense of style and hairdo makes me laugh ;D ;D.
Tricia
She should at least have had the decency to have had a haircut!
She doesn't need a haircut, just a good brush and comb would do wonders. But I think it is a style for women of a "certain" age - I've seen a lot of them around, and call it the hedgehog style ;) ;) ;)
My OH thinks I look like her, pah! Iam at least 10 years younger , still he may be walking again by Christmas!
I'll have you lot know I'm in love with Carol!... :P
well I'm certainly not 'in love' with her but I do like her!...maybe cos I'm a lady of 'a certain age' too ;) altho I don't wear my hair in that spiky way!
but last night's edition of 'Hampton Court' where she was twirled around by Bruno Tonioli had me feeling somewhat 'hot under the collar' and squirming in my seat :o (& some of his remarks did)
Ladies of a 'Certain Age' have an air of mystery.( ;) ) Very puzzling to us other species. I started off not liking Carol, but now I like her 'don't give a s*d' attitude'....but, yes, the 'Oooo's and Aahh's are a bit painful..But I still like her down to earth attitude.
I like Carol as well. You cannot fault her on enthusiasm. Something that has been sadly lacking on Gardenersl World since Geoffrey Smith, Roy Lancaster and Geoff Hamilton!!
At least she is prepared to get her hands dirty, unlike that dreadful Rachel deThame woman.
Over the past 40 years of Gardeners' World, Carol is by no means the worst presenter!!
I agree with you H_P about the 'dancing' with Bruno Tonioli (who the bl**dy hell is he??). Give her her due, Carol did look embarrassed. I think in this instance she was a victim of the general BBC policy of dumbing down!!

Hear, Hear.....or, after looking at Carol's danglers...is it maybe, ear, ear?

'hot under the collar'
Yes I came over 'all unnessessary' ( is that the way to spell it), until the doc martins brought me down to earth.
I might be mixing it up with 'mississipi'
Speaking as someone who was at the back of the queue for the 'gorgeous' gene, I like Carols attitude to looks. She does what she wants and doesnt care. Its lovely to have presenters who are not picture perfect and embrace age confidently. It is nice to watch tv and not feel I have to start saving for plastic surgery. :o :o
cj :)
Quite agree Caroline (don't mean about your genes ;D) To me she does seem a down to earth person.
:))I met Carol years ago on her plant stall at the Harrogate Flower show
she was lovely, chatty and friendly, very down to earth,/ shades x
I like Carol too. I started off a bit unsure about her as well, but as the time has gone on I have warmed to her, and I do think she genuinely loves gardening, even if she is over the top with her oohs and aahs! I think she is a very good role model for the older woman. :) busy_lizzie

well Bruno Tonioli is/was one of the 4 judges of 'Strictly Come Dancing' which has become a 'regular' programme on t.v. lasting for about 12 weeks for each new 'series'.....got to confess I just love that programme (being a lover of dance of any sort)
agree with remark about the DM's ;D
Hello
I like carol too, She is a very lovely person we have met her on the last 2 gardeners world live and chelsea this year she has always been very chatty and talks to my mum who is disabled and in a wheelchair my mum thinks she's great my mum treasures a picture of her & mum at gardeners world live.
Cheers

Speaking of people being less than perfect, did anyone watching the live earth concert last night notice that one of Madonna's dancers must have been a size 12!!! I was amazed to see a dancer not the usual size 8. OH reckons its because MAdonna is getting a bit bigger, and by using bigger dancers, she still looks tiny. He could have a point.
Also heard that the pop singer Mika has brought out a song saying how lovely the larger lady is.
If things like this keep happening, shares in Sllimfast are going to plummet ;D ;D ;D

I was waiting for that, the doc martins and the pole dancing just finished it for me, ace, admit it, you quite like the 'bag lady' ;D
'The old saying of ' Red and Green should never be seen' looked OK on Carol. Think I may try it too, well why not, makes a change from wearing purple with red shoes.
I like Carol whatsername she is down to earth.

I agree with you H_P about the 'dancing' with Bruno Tonioli (who the bl**dy hell is he??).
He's a very famous choreographer who works in films, stage shows and music videos - although more recently he's been a panelist (sp?) on a couple of the Strictly Dance ..... competition programmes.
Edit: Oops, I see someone has already replied

Na, onion breath, doc martins, also my walls are too thin for all the ooohs and aaahs, I would not be able to keep her in the vegetables she was accustomed too and they hit her a bit too hard with the ugly stick.
Give me Nora Batty anyday
Such a pity ACE, as Carol always speaks so highly of you.
