Title: First beetroot
Post by: cornykev on July 04, 2007, 20:40:09
Pulled my first beetroot about 15 minutes ago and a few more are nearly ready for picking, thinned out some nice finger carrots enough for about two meals and a few peas to eat straight out of the pods.  :P ;D ;D ;D

We ate our first ones on monday night - from golf ball sized to about 6 cm across.

OH Doesn't even like beetroot much - he snarfed the lot!

Plenty more to come too! ;D

Any ideas for cooking, apart from boiling or roasting?  Anybody tried beetroot chips maybe, done in a really hot oven?  If you can make crisps out of them, surely you can make chips?
Advice please!!
