Title: Not too late for Squash!
Post by: Amazin on July 04, 2007, 20:02:37
In my haste to avoid the rain last week, I knocked over a jar of assorted pumpkin and squash seeds. I've barely been outdoors since, so I forgot about them - until tonight, when I spotted this... get sowing folks!

I've got a packet of butternut squash seeds (free gift with magazine) have never grown them before but find I like eating them :P

have been wondering  if I pop a couple of seeds into big space on lottie, they might grow?...seeing your pics. think I might give it a go :)

but guess this continued wet & often dull weather might prevent them from developing into anything worthwhile - surely they need loads of sunshine?

H.P.

Yes, but the word is we'll get the sunshine and heat eventually - and possibly a long late summer! Worth a try, eh?

giving it a go - put 3 seeds directly into ground today after preparing it well.....keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that at least one will grow.

I'm panicking!....cos I forgot to put any pellets around 'the sowing' but sure at this stage (before seedling appears) they can't or wont get at the 'seed' will they?
