When I first bought this as a sapling 46 years ago the nurseryman said "You`ll have to wait a few years for it to flower". And now it`s flowering for the very first time. All the lower blooms have been ruined by the rain, and those in the photo are 35 feet above ground.

Aren't they just fabulous? My brother has a huge one in his garden in France and when I was there in May it was absolutely covered with blossom. Quite, quite lovely.
