What's the weather like where you are. It's been raining most of the day for me, humid and wet :(, just the weather to get all those nasty diseases thriving. Found this on the internet.
God made rainy days, so gardeners could get the housework done :P
Rainy days and sundays always get me down. OMG - I've got a Carpenters song stuck in my head.
It suddenly started tipping it down when I was on my way to the station this morning. But since then it's been dry and overcast. Feels a lot cooler, but still kind of clammy.
'Here' being East London.
I do hope it rains some more, otherwise I'm still going to have to water tonight.
edit 30 mins later: now it's sunny.
Gorgeous again - slight wind, clouds building every now and again but giving up - just got back from a couple of hours digging and must remember sunhat next time!
strangely enough the same weather as ceri has got!!
i really want to go digging but i am having a party at the weekend and need to muck out the house...
Had everthing, barring snow and hail, here today. (West Lothian, Scotland) High winds. lashing rain, thunder and lightning, then drizzle, sunshine, clouds, back to rain. Ho Hum.
Later:
Now the sun's out again!!!
Eileen.
Stranger than fiction, Eileen. Here in Edinburgh we have had lovely hot sunshine, bit windy and dark clouds came over a couple of times two spits of rain then back to sun again. This evening is lovely. Ground still dry
Happy to say that the sun is finally shining brightly now and the forecast is good for this weekend.
;D 8) ;D
Spoke too soon, Eileen, that's the thunder really cracking and rolling now!! :o :o !!
Wish it would storm here in Essex to clear the air a little, also to help lazy me with the watering! We did have 4 small showers today, but they hardly damped down the dust. Glorious afternoon, got laundry dried - oh the glamours of being a mum and housewife! Going to have to water at the plot tomorrow, got seeds in and they ain't gunna germinate, they are going to cook! :o

Hi Wicker,I too live in West Lothian and my son phoned from Edinburgh last night,we were chatting when the thunder and lightning started again here.
There was a big roll and we both gasped simultaneously,as it must have been halfway between, and we both heard it at the same time.
I had to rush out to rescue Piggy,my ancient fostered guinea pig,who had been happily munching her way through the grass in her run out front.
Good news from my son as his new job has now moved from Paisley to just down the road, meaning he does not have 1 1/2 hour or more commute 2 times daily. ;D
Really poured after all that thunder last night. Ooh, Toots, I don't like being on the phone when there is thunder and lightning - think it's going to travel down the cable to me!!
Haven't managed to the lottie to see if the rain has done some harm as well as good - my precious corns I mean, hope they haven't been battered to the ground.
Hi Wicker, hopefully not any damage done ,as here rain not too bad, hope corns are OK,no damage to our garden,in fact flowers blooming after the wet.First poppy out now!Toots :)
We need rain! We need rain! Essex is getting like a dust bowl! Send some of your lovely scottish weather our way for a night please. :D
Hi EJ,you are more than welcome to a rainy spell or two ,can we swap for a wee touch of heatwave this weekend please? Ta! Toots. ;D 8)
Just caught up with the exchange between Eileen and Wicker about the difference in weather between Edinburgh and Lothian. We live in Fife and husband works in Edinburgh. The weather is often completely different for us on any one day. The Forth seems to be a sort of dividing line - in fact driving across the bridge you can sometimes see the break between two sorts of weather going right down the middle of the river.
The thing that's getting me down at the moment is the wind. Don't mind the cloud and rain, in fact glad of the latter as have just planted out 50 camomile plants between the paving slabs of my veg patch path.
The wind is just too much, though, the way it messes everything up.

When the thunderstorm hit Edinburgh the other night,i was talking to my daughter who lives in Edinburgh. Here in the Borders it was a beautiful evening.
I agree with SueM have noticed the wind more this summer.
Until yesterday have had very little rain here.
Anne
Got it, thanks Scotland, my squashes and corns salute you! ;D
Still waiting in sussex :'( Ground is beginning to crack!
DP - isn't that strange, I live in West Sussex and had rain nearlly all day Thursday, pleased to have some dry weather yesterday and today. We must be only a matter of 15 miles (or maybe less) from each other.
Still waiting Jess!! Spent the day Thursday, at Bodium castle and at Beachy Head, (as you can see I didn't jump!! :o) No rain there either! Will have to go up the plot and water tomorrow!
Went to the plot this avo, and even after lots of lovely heavy downpours on Saturday, the ground is bone dry and cracking! :o I love the long hot dry summers, just wish our allotment had piped water as the stream has nearly run dry :o
