Now that's how it used to be...pity most parents have lost the knack. Mind you, allotments and 'proper' back gardens are as scarce as hen's teeth too.

one day, both you and your child will look back and talk about all he has done and what lovely photos to remind you both.  Share them with everyone you can ~ indirect education.....

We've a couple of little 'uns on our site, the baby is usually laid on the ground wrapped in an anorak sleeping (this stage won't last for ever), and the little boy "helps".  He has his own tools, and knows exactly where he can and can't walk.  And this is such an important part in getting to know where his food comes from and what he's eating.  Wish more people could do it that way.

Awww thanks for the feedback  :)

GREENWIZARD: Nearly time to get no.1 grandson up to the allotment - his mum doesn't like him getting his clothes dirty  ::) I sometimes think I'm not related to her AT ALL  ;D

GRANDMA! He's constantly up an apple tree these days. Quite a useful little asset when it comes to harvesting them I reckon! He knows how to climb DOWN now as well which saves me getting the ladder out of the shed. I'm not very good with heights.

CAMBOURNE: Only one kid on those pics .. or are you referring to Ahmed & Grandad as well?!  ;D

ASBEAN: That's how Alfie's been brought up as well. The babe on your lottie lives in comparative luxury though. He used to fall asleep wherever he found himself. I used to find him under potato plants and behind the greenhouse on a regular basis  ::)

Once again, thanks for the feedback. I really am proud of the little man, he recognises most vegetables growing in the lotties by sight now, knows how to pinch out tomato plants & was knocking nails into wood at the age of 3. X

Youv'e twisted my arm Hot_potato ;D ( I'm Emagggie by the way, though I have a sneaky feeling EJ will know this one ;D)

NOOOObody loves me,
EVVVVVERYbody hates me,
I think I'll go and eat worms,
LOOOONG thin skinny ones,
BIIIIIIIIG fat juicy ones, Ones that squiggle and squirm.
BITE their heads off,
SLURP (good sound effects required here) their juice out,
throw their skins awaaaay,
Nobody knows how much I grows on one three times a daaaaaay.

This has to be sung fortissimo and with feeling. 8)

If that boy Alfie doesn't know this already, then I think he should as part of his edicashun.

EMaggie - am so sorry getting you mixed up with EJ......the old C nile virus again I think :)

just love that song - know I've heard it before but had forgotten it till your reminder..........printing it out for my grandchildren - they will just love it & relish in the sound effects (thank G.W.for bigger copy)...we started a small indoor wormery (came in kit form and was kept in the bedroom :o (not my house - theirs!!)....and how they loved digging with me for the worms 8)

they'll want to go digging for more once they've heard this - good conditions right now after all this rain (that's still falling)

H.P.
