Title: shallots n poppies

Can someone tell me how come me shalotts are beaten down through the weather, and in the middle of these poor shalotts is a poppy, not just a poppy but a POPPY, the bugger is enormous!!! why is it the ony thing so strong! ! !I love poppies,they are my favorite flower but in the middle of me shalotts!!!!!!!! its morally wrong cos I cant touch em..

Same as you Stanley... poppies have magically sprung up in my onions... lovely to look at though and the onions don't seem to mind, so a bit of colour to cheer me up when I see the mould on my onions cause of all the rain!

Gave me a giggle that Stanley.  I love poppies too.  Hope your shallots aren't too badly damaged.

I have a sunflower,a nasturtium,a number of what look like foxglove babies and two tomato plants appear in my garlic bed.  ??? Brand new mini raised bed with shop bought compost in it.  I've pulled the garlic out now and have left the others plants to carry on though I will transplant the foxglove thingies when I'm more sure about them.

I have a few tommie plants that just come out of nowhere, do they throw off seeds from last year.  ??? ??? ;D ;D ;D

Yes Kev... esp the currant ones. Grew Yellow Currant one year and had them coming up for years...
