Title: Feeding Chilli plants
Post by: Stan0406 on June 23, 2007, 22:48:06
Have grown some chilli plants from seed, and they are doing quite well.  Do I need to feed them.  I have been giving them the occassional feed of tomorite, along with the tomatoes, but as a complete novice, would appreciate some advice from those with tonnes of experience.  Thanks

As with tomatoes, it is normal to start feeding when the first fruit sets. Any earlier & you risk an unbalance of nutrients. And, in a good growbag, you're wasting food.

Many brands say once a week? So, if you're doing it daily, do check your dilution.

I've read that the better fed they are the milder they become?

Just remove all the seeds and the white pith inside the chillies for a mlder flavour, thats where all the heat is.

Like many I feed mine with tomorite at the same time I feed my tomatoes.
