Does anyone know where I can get these? They are the ones with blue skin and lilac flesh (rather than just blue skinned, which i can find_?
Many thanks.
It would depend on the type, some are not available as tubers so you have to but micro plants, do you have a name.
PM me... I have a few in a bucket which I grew last year... they will not have much growth on them yet and are good for a couple of years before the viruses kick in...

Hope it's ok to resuss an old thread...do Salad Blue have a nice taste?
There's a paragraph about them halfway down this page: http://daughterofthesoil.blogspot.com/2007/12/heritage-veg-summary-2007.html . She also says that shop-bought ones can taste like sawdust, so it depends how you grow them!
Robert, you ae a star. I knew I'd read it somewhere but couldn't find it...and that's the page with a Beetroot I wanted to find and couldn't remember the name... Rouge Crapaudine
I grew these last year with great success, I had very high yields and they made the best chips and roasties ever. I bought seed tubers from Alan Roman, I have bought them again this year.
Thanks Amphibian, I am planning to get them off him :) Also fancy trying Highland Burgandy.....keep seeing Braveheart in my head when I see that spud mentioned

I'm trying the burgandy this year too.
I also like Salad Blue, particularly as baked potatoes, although they do go a bit grey in colour if you microwave them. Nice 'earthy' taste, and grow to a good baking size if you leave them in long enough. ;D
