I don't know this plant, but my hunch would be to pick the larger outer leaves before they become tough or too fibrous to eat.


I just googled it. As it is a kale, I would treat it like Nero di Toscane and expect it to keep on growing while harvesting the outer leaves. I did that with my Nero, starting in November, and I kept on harvesting till March.

They've come on well since we saw them as seedlings Tim.

True! But the Nero had a setback.

So - I'll try a few leaves from each plant. There are only 6 on each.

Are they OK for salads at this size?
