Title: Viromesh, Flea Beetle etc
Post by: tim on June 21, 2007, 09:06:14
Just a thought. We go to a lot of trouble to cover Brassica type things against the Beetle but I have never, to my knowledge, had an attack on other than Radish, Chinese Veg, Rocket etc.

Are we being too fussy & going for an unnecessarily expensive material - where netting ( fine enough to avoid catching birds?) would ward off C/Whites, Cats, Rabbits, Foxes & Pigeons??

I have been using this  sort of netting for about  3 years .. Can be used year after year ..
It's debris netting and at £26 for 50mtrs x 2mtrs comes with 100 free tie wraps  I dont think it works out  that expensive ..This was earlier in season over cabbage These have since grown and are now more or less ready for picking ...
Also kept out carrot fly last year ...

Makes a good windbreak, too.
