I would love to try growing some shallots over the winter when will i need to order and buy the sets and any varieties particularly recommended for a beginner and when will i need to plant them

excellent will try that one can you recommend one for over the winter to help make full use of ground. oh and by the way tim that horseradish you sent me is galloping away will try to remember batteries for camera and take a piccy

i thnik you can over winter jermor aswell, i think that is what i used and they have done well. i planted them out at the same time as my garlic around october november. they are very nearly ready.

I planted out my jermor shallots in February, and just yesterday I dug them up.  They look great and they are busying drying out in my utility room, can't wait to use them. busy_lizzie
