Title: Planting Carrots
Post by: RobsVeg on June 19, 2007, 17:13:41
Hi There

I am going to plant some carrots on my allotment for the first time and I've been told to plant them where I am taking out the last of my early potatoes because it is well dug but one of the guys down the allotment says it's not a good idea as they are both root crops, I don't want to risk a build up of any disease so is this going to be OK or should I squeeze them in another part of the plot [not much room left though.

Thanks

I was wondering the same as that is what i hope to do... though when you think of it carrots and potatos suffer different disease and technically potatos are a tuber not a root. So i think its ok.

If you give the spud ground plenty of manure like I did then your carrots won't like the ground it will make your carrots fang, but what do I no.  ;D ;D ;D
