Title: monty sparks a debate
Post by: emmy1978 on June 19, 2007, 16:13:56
Good old Montague. Here is his quote from this months GW.
"Women are better at vegetable growing than men, for they are less hung up on size and more interested in taste."
What do we think peeps?

And do not get me started on "straight lines" .The earth is curved and so are some of my lines!

Couldn't care less either way but very pleased to see someone in the media express an honest opinion & not be driven by political correctness!

I would like to say that women are more patient, but that is just not true in my case...

He might be right with the whole size and quantity thing, but guess it depends in the person.

Straight line, whats that? ;D

Well I can only speak for me, but taste is my number one , way before size or yeild but I guess it helps to have a big area.If I only had a tiny one and mouths to feed I would go the other way.

I have noticed it is usually men that grow the giant stuff though????????

Patient...well in most things I am, but John is too.

I like straight lines, but rarely seem to manage them - when my potatoes started to appear it looked like they'd been to the pub the night before and were staggering through the beds.

our plot is relaxed, not regimented  ;D
ray's dad goes mad, he used to use a line to put his seeds in and a rule to make sure the plants were identically spaced, huh  ;D
also, he can't understand why we grow flowers and things between all sorts of plants, I think it's a generation thing, rather then a man/woman thing  :)

I grow sunflowers on our allotment, just sort of dotted around, they grow very very tall, and I get asked why are you growing sunflowers???  I just reply - because I want to.  ;)
