Title: Tomato seeds from Barnsdale Swap
Post by: Jeannine on June 13, 2007, 20:45:16
Hi, I have a small brown packet  with red writing, that has tomato seeds in that I got at the Barnsadle swap and I can't quite make out all the words.

Please can you let me know.

It says.
Italian Seed Company
Sow March-April
Harvest July-Sept.
Tomato...looks like ....Tondino Maremanne

I have googled and can't find it. Is it Tondino Maremmano

Hi Jeannine,

I checked out the Italian Seed Co. website,  and the toms you speak of are on top of the list.  (sold out too you lucky thing)

http://www.italianseedcompany.co.uk/tomatoes.htm (http://www.italianseedcompany.co.uk/tomatoes.htm)

Looks like it may have been spelt incorrectly on the packet?

Jeannine

Sorry my writing isn't brilliant - these were the ones I bought to the seed swap. I am growing them in my makeshift tomato house this summer.  :-[

They haven't fruited yet - but were one of the few that despite frost damage in late May have regrown really well.

Hope they are okay for you
