Ever since getting our lottie, I don't think I've ever enjoyed rain so much in my life.
It's almost changed my perspective on the British weather. I'm sat on my dining room chair, laptop on the table, overlooking my newly landscaped garden with the french doors open. The rain is bouncing off the perspex lean-to roof, the tempature is mild, and everything out there is starting to look lush and green.
Baden Powell is playing through the speakers (almost drowned out by the snoring of two sleepy black labradors), and I almost fancy myself a glass of Barolo....*sigh*! Maybe in another hour.
It is innit (when it actually arrives ::) )
Someone I know remarked on the lovely weather today and I just scowled at him ;D
IT'S RAINING HERE!
BRILLIANT ;D
Actually it has been super for a few days, tailored made for a gardener,John was at the lottie yesterday till 3 pm, and just as he finshed it poured down, then stopped a few hours later, enough to well water the ground but not too much that he couldn't work in it today, today exactly the same, he got a good day in then it rained at home time,if only we could order it that way all would be well with the world. I'd just finished watering all the things we have put in recently and it has been raining steadily since about 4pm... not heavy just steady... the weeds will be knee high again tomorrow!
;D
Earlier on I wished for evening rain and here it is! Gardeners dream come true. Pelt it down while we sleep then fine weather for tomorrow's work. Hurray!
Trying to dig an overgrown bit of the plot today I really needed a sledgehammer so hopefully tomorrow I'll actually manage to get some results instead of giving up after about ten minutes like today!
its raining here :-)
were getting thunder, lighening, and heavy rain here.
Mixed blessing as i think that some of my seedlings may be damaged by the very heavy rain!!
I have the strimmer booked for monday £12 bargain so the weeds can grow all they like!!
??? ??? Rain?? What rain??? ??? ??? ???
I wish. We haven't had a decent shower of rain for over two weeks. Big black clouds, a few spots, and nothing more. >:( >:(
Put the rest of my climbing beans in yesterday and a few odd tomatoes that were left. Went up this afernoon and I couldn't believe how they had grown already. (Im not telling porkies). Picked myself another bunch of sweet peas, watered my mates tunnell (she was at the NEC.) came home and down came the rain again. This weather does give me a chance to get other things done. like dusting and vaccing. I really must get around to clearing out that spare room.lol
Its been raining for 40 min, the gutters have overflowed. The back garden is flooded and the rain is still falling.
I ran out with a bucket to put under one of the drips from the guttering and move my watering can to catch more rain and I have gotten soaked!!
I can only hope the allotment and my shed has faired well. ???
Well, John had me drop him off at the lottie on the way to work this morning in the rain.He was determined to shift the last few loads of cow poo.I thought he was nuts. After a while and when the rain became very heavy, I just had to phone him and demand that he went home.He did, but have learned that he shifted the last few piles AND spread all the previous loads that he had dumped in heaps before he went. A full lottie of manure in the pouring rain.
I don't know wether to kiss him or choke him,
Silly old **d.
Treats are in order I think

Yes but they are usually good ideas. ;D
If he gets a cold I will not put Vicks on his chest. Bless him.Might bake him a lemon meringue though.
Thing is it is for my replacement pumpkin patch and he knows how much I wanted it done.
He really stinks though !!!!! Well his clothes do, he has been in the bath.

Anybody got any spare timber? I'm thinking about building an ark. We have already had roads closed (in town) here the rain is that heavy, and from the forecast on Anglia TV, it looks set to continue for quite a while yet.
I'm just getting over a rather heavy cold, so I don't think I'll be venturing out just yet though. I suppose by the time I get back up to the applotment, the weeds will have taken over yet again.
Nup. >:( It's too cold for June and too wet and I can't get anything done.
Jeannine any chance of borrowing John?? ;)
And good look finding wood there's a shortage
It has been pouring all day here. The water butts should be full but I'm worried Paul's newfound enthusiasm may come to an abrupt end if all his seeds have floated away! :(
Yes. ;D
Agree with you Timiano that having a lottie puts a new spin on what is 'good weather' ;)
I went to the plot this morning, weeded my beds, thinned out :'( radishes and the sweetcorn that i planted insanely close together. Went home very pleased with my self! Then as I made a brew the heavens opened!!! So it all gets a lovely soaking. It'd better stop for the weekend though. :(
No.
I've just done nearly half of the lawnmowing, (Timewise that is, ie all the fiddly bits and the edges) and down comes the rain. All nice and wet now.
Grrrrr.
I'm about to issue a challenge to the rain God. I'm off to Kärcherise the other patio ;) Watch out for heavy rain in the Edinburgh area. ;D
