Can I just thank everyone who encouraged me to hard prune my Passiflora Caerulea. I chopped it back to one stem at about 4 foot high and in the last couple of months it has sent up about a dozen or more new strong shoots. I'm delighted. ;D

Is it coming up between all the slabs in the patio yet?
;D
Always works for me Georgie ;)
i planted some seeds from the seed swap but none of them germinated. :(
Aww Mary, bad luck. :( I think the secret might be to grow the seed fresh. Every one I sowed last year germinated and I'd be happy to sow some for you this year and send you the seedlings. PM me if interested.

I managed to get 2 seeds to germinate this year :-) Now I have to work out where to plant them!

Marymary, I'll check my spare stock of slab-grown seedlings (i.e. self seeded everywhere!) and you'll be more than welcome to a couple.
These have grown from the fruits of a twenty-odd year old rampant beast :o
I'll be taking cuttings of my banana passionfruit as well (Passiflora Mollisima) - the link shows a piccy:

if they take, and anyone wants to give 'em a go, let me know.
I think it's going to be a good Passiflora year - this is the first year mine are really covered with flower buds.. am getting quite excited. :D
Ours has flowered earlier than usual this (crazy) year.
I can't decide if I like it or not - they are so fancy, I usually prefer simple flowers, but then when I get up close to them I can't stop looking at them.
I don't know what variety it is, can anyone help?
No idea but smashing photo. :)
That's Caerulea I'd say.

Yup, definitely Caerulea. By the way, my Banana Passionfruit has just started flowering - pics soon!
Loads of flower on mine too, earliest I've had flowers before was the 11th of July must have been the warm April...
;D
Ive planted the 4 banana ones that germinated in black buckets, they're climbing up the mesh in the fruit cage, no flowers though, but at least they're still growing ;D
