Title: d**n Rabbits!!
Post by: Norfolk n Proud on June 11, 2007, 17:58:32
Last Monday i planted out two lots of cabbages ( Savoy and Kilaxy ), some purple caulis, and broccoli, yesterday i learnt the hard way that i really should have remembered to net them up, but this is only my 4th month of having a lottie, my question though is should i bother planting some more of the above from seed? or accept that the rabbits have won this time? Cheers guys

Andy. It's rotten when your crops get eaten. We net everything cos if the pidgeons don't get it the foxes and cats do. I don't really like to see an allotment covered in netting but it's the only way if you want to keep the veg yourself.

I'd have another go, andy..all you'll lose is a few seeds and you might get a good crop..we net everything brassica related, again over a frame  :)

I heard from someone else that rabbits don't like human hair. So if you know a friendly hairdresser!!

We don't have rabbits - we have pigeons.  Lots of them.  There's a lady who feeds them near the allotments, daily.  She doesn't give them enough food, so they wait till our backs are turned.  I turned my back this morning and found nine sprout plants like this
