Hi, I just got a phone call from my son Barry and his wife Marcianna in Holland that that they have a baby on the way.
It is my turn to be excited now.
It is a second marriage for Marcianna so I got 3 ready made grandchildren when they married which is very special , this is the first baby for my son which is exciting because he will be forty next year.( I had sort of given up on him) They did have a baby started some time ago but sadly she miscarried.
Fingers crossed for a while everyone please,
XXX Jeannine
Oh... Dutch Grandmother and Grandfather is Oma and Opa
Oh Jeannine, how exciting :)! My children call their Belgian grandparents 'opa and nanny'. No 'oma' because my own 'oma' was still alive when my children were born. She died a few years ago aged 94, but we still call my mum 'nanny'. Whereabouts in Holland does your son live?
My grandchildren all call me Oma and Peter was Opa. The first of our children to have children was his middle daughter Linda whose husband is Dutch. So all the grandchildren have adopted Oma and Opa. Peter's Dad is Opapa.
Jeannine. Congratulations. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly this time. Lovely to have your first born at 40.
Congratulations, Jeannine and John! Hope all goes well for them. Bet you've got the knitting needles out already!
Fantastic news! I'm chuffed to bits for you :-*
Very good news Jeannine and John. I hope everything goes well for your son and his wife. :D
Congratualtions Oma ;D ;D ;D ;D
You must be so pleased for them!
I will get all your knitting patterns back for you asap!!! Can I hang on to the one shawl one till I finish though, prob sometime in 2010 ::)
When is the baby due? We may be pacing the floor at the same time :D
I bet the other children are all excited!
Off now to cross fingers, toes , arms legs and any other body parts I can manipulate into that position.
cj :)
Congrats to all. There must have been something in the air recently-I went to book a massage with Jasmine(my regular masseuse at the gym)this morning and she can`t do massages for a while now as she is pregnant as well-insert stork smiley!!

hope everything is ok
nothing beats looking at that little baby, then looking at your baby !!
wot life's all about ;D :-*
how lovely - when is the new arrival due ?
I think there must be something in the air at the moment as my nightclass has 3 pregnant ladies - and there are only 12 of us in the class (all female).
Want to say a very big congratulations from me too.... ;D
congrats jeannine my son was 35 when daisy came along so i never thought he would have children well he kept saying he didn,t want any and now he is the worlds best dadmarg
Thank you all, she is only just pregnant, 6 weeks or so, so a long time to go.It is a bit nerve wracking though so my thoughts are willing Marcianna to sit down for 8 months!!She is a smashing daughter in law and I love her very much, I so much want this to go right for them.
Caroline, I don't need those patterns back, I kept the fine wool ones which I prefer to knit with, pass them on to someone when you are done with them.
Hey we will be able to compare bumps!!!
It is very funny that Marcianna phoned this morning because I had spent quite sometime with my patterns just last night. I had asked if I may knit something for Carolines Grandbump as I love knitting baby things and I had more or less thought I wouldn't be doing this anymore, and she kindly said yes.I even ordered wool on line at 1 am this morning!!
So I will carry on planning my knitting, like knitting for twins, a double blessing.
Thank you for all your good wishes, ooohhhh I am getting duck bumps thinking about a little squishy coming.
XX Jeannine
Great news Jeannine, congratulations to you and John, not forgetting the Mum and Dad to be. Hope everything goes really well for your D-I-L. My sister-in-law (Charlie's sister) became a Great Grandmother at 5am this morning, a boy weighing 9lb2oz, must be something in the air!!! Keep us posted, you know we all love to hear about babies :)
Big scream of excitement. You are going to be the BEST grandmother. Big squeeze for you. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Ooo Jeannine you ARE going to be busy - all that knitting to do!
I think there must be something in the air at the moment as my nightclass has 3 pregnant ladies - and there are only 12 of us in the class (all female).
