My aubergines are still alive, despite the rampant greenfly and tatty leaves. I believe I need to pinch out the growing shoot. Does this just mean pinching out the newest leaf? And do I need a certain number of leaves before I do this- I know the instructions usually say "when 6" high".
We tend to leave ours alone, pinching out should make more use of the pace..
:-\
Never pinched mine out. Didn't know you were supposed to.
I don't pinch mine either ,however everything I have read says you should but when a foot high. I always mean to do it but forget!!!
nope, me neither..mind you, it might mean a bushier plant and no need to stake when they get too top heavy..I think I'll try it on 1 ..they're about 10" tall now so I'll wait a bit longer :)
Never - no space for a bushier plant.
So can't compare.
Ok, thanks- I'll leave them alone, or maybe try pinching one. I notice Teegee says on his site to pinch out, so maybe he'll be along later. What about sideshoots?
Let'em be!!
Well I pinched half mine today to see what happens
Brave Girl! DON'T forget to report back when we do a summary of dates etc in the Autumn - if I can remember!!
