ours were like that, we were using them as loose leaf cabbage..the march sown ones have caught them up now and started hearting up..ate the last of the autumn sown ones 2 days ago ;D
thats what i planted but they turned out to be cauliflower :-\
Use a high nitrogen feed. Sulphate of ammonia, or Dried blood. Just sprinkle some around the base of the plant and hoe in.
We put some sulphate of ammonia around our spring greens and it did the trick. Was glad we had the bunnies to help us out. As you say Manic the spring sewn ones have caught up.Were having some tonite
Is that blood fish and bone?
Hi RR, Blood fish and bone is a slow release balanced fertilizer..With an NPN of roughly 555.. This lasts a lot longer in soil than say dried blood alone ..
Dried blood is a quick release easily absorbed nitrogen fertilizer with a NPN roughly of 12-0-0 ..
It's the quick release high nitrogen fertilizers that give cabbage etc a boost ..
Other high nitrogen fertilizers are Sulphate of ammonium ,Nitrate of soda ..
High nitrogen wouldn't be suitable for seedlings etc..
The way I apply it is just sprinkle a little around base of plant and water it in well ..
