I have just been to the allotment to pick our evening meal :-

It must be healthy consisting of broad beans (209g), peas (215g), onions, pak choi, spinach (243g), potatoes (1.5Kg fron one plant), radish and strawberries (570g)? This weekend I can add carrots and courgettes.

Well done Manic Scousers! I think that the Mersey Riviera is the new Garden of England and that Kent will be Mediterranean.

I am not allowed to bring any non edible bits, or soil home.
My wife insists that they have to look as if she has just removed the supermarket wrapping!

a friend of ours used to make her husband kill the chucks, clean them, wrap them in cling film and put them in the freezer before she could bring herself to use them  ;D
I think you're right about the weather, frost melts in the ozone layer before it hits wigan, pollution, we reckon  ;D

That is brilliant AAL and Manics. I have a tiny handful of spuds, a few strawbs, loads of raspberries and redcurrants and about 20 little gems which i gave away in school playground today. Note to self : don't sow so many at once next time!!!  :-[

love raspberries and redcurrants, emmy..we've not got any of them yet, lucky you  ;D
we did 15 little gem, 2 to a pot, all came up and i couldn't bring myself to pinch them out, so...30 lettuce, all ready at once  ;D

LOvely looking produce you two.  We have had several meals of new potatoes, broad beans, lots of spinach beet, 3 courgettes, lots of strawberries, a lettuce a day for several weeks, rocket, raddishes, spring cabbage & loads & loads of spring onions - thanks AALiverpool for the tip about sowing spare onion sets close together.  They have been so successful I think I will buy a whole bag next year just to do that with.
