Chris,

I recently bought several packs very cheap at 'Tickety-Boo' (a local version of Poundsaver / Poundland). I paid £1 for a pack containing 2 lengths x 10 ft long each. Brand name is Mason Products, code number MD36-1831

It is actually draught excluder but works fine for Greenhouse glazing (much easier than the Black nylon beading that was originally supplied)

I know Two Wests also stock the 'proper' stuff but it is expensive at £14.95 for 40 ft

A few years ago I used the rubber substitute which resembled a blu-tac type substance...
it became a problem as the glass slipped during hot weather which in turn baked the 'blu-tac' so much that I couldn't then remove the glass without breaking it....

Moral of the story is to buy the correct gear for the job!

Go to a DIY store and get some non-hardening silicone/mastic in a tube you apply with a corking gun.

I had exactly the same problem, and asked on A4A the same question!
We havent got round to putting the glass in ours yet! Job for this weekend (if dry)
But we will be using silicone sealent, as recommended.

This is not really related to the other post but not sure how to start a new thread.
I have some glass which would be suitable for cloches. I know you can buy special clips for the apex of the cloche but does anyone have any ideas for a cheap alternative? ??? Some of my glass is very thick stuff.
