Title: Latah tomatoes.
Post by: carolinej on June 04, 2007, 22:16:34
I  am growing Latah toms from Real Seeds this year for the first time. They have held up great outdoors, considering the cold May we had, but they dont have many fruit per truss.

Is anyone else familiar with them?

Will they get more fruit later on?

What size are the tomatoes going to be?

Thanks

cj :)

Hi Caroline
I'm growing them too - also from real seeds.
Mine have been out on the allotment for a while now.  Will do an inspection and let you know.

The fruit are about the size of a smallish egg.

I grew many of these last year and they set plenty, though not abundant, quantities of fruit. The plants never grew particularly large, they stop growing quite quickly and set no fruit after they have done this.

Lovely tomato though.

I suppose I'd better reduce my expectations then ::) If I like the flvour, I will put in a few extra plants next year to compensate.

I have some indoors and some out. There doesnt seem to be any difference between the plants.
