The last week has seen an improvement on my small plot. The last bed is in Just need to fill it with soil now. It will take about about 2.4 cubic meters thats about 3 ton of topsoil. That will give me a soil depth of approx 40cm or 16" in old money.
Before I put the topsoil in I will be putting about 4" of manure over the clay bottom and forking it into the clay where I can. For this year as its late in the season now will be leaving half the bed with no manure in and trying to sow some winter carrots Autumn King type. The rest of the bed will be manured and winter greens planted out.
As the plot was last week.

All that needs to be done then is the tiding up of the paths and black membrane put down and leveled off with gravel.
good grief, that's a lot of work for a week !!
hope you're well rewarded for your hard work ;D
Wow Tiercel....WELL DONE...You have worked hard. Love seeing the before and after pics...Thanks for showing and sharing.
Lauren :)
Do you undertake commisioned work?
If so you could come round here!
;D
looking good - you must have a heck of a slope
I'm impressed, you've worked really hard and it looks amazing! A big pat on your back from me!
That's one h*ll of a lot of work - I can empathise, we have a sloping garden too.
Well I got the soil in, and planted half the bed with Swedes, Carrots and Parsnip. The parsnip have just today started to sprout.
The rest of the bed will be winter brassica's.
The paths will have to wait till next year, as i have spent enough on the garden for this year.
