Title: Mr Hoppy
Post by: MrsKP on May 31, 2007, 22:37:52
Narrowly missed being decapitated by a spade (left of pic).  He was hiding under the weed supressant, but what is he ?

He's very well camouflaged isn't he.  He was also very patient and sat dead still while I trekked off to get  the camera, take his pic and put the camera back.

In the end I had to scoot him up onto my glove so I could put him out of harms way.

Cute wee fella.

;D

Nice pic & good to hear someone else likes them.  My neighbour goes ape & gets me to come over & repatriate them into my garden.  It always makes me smile when they puff up in self defence 'cos lets face it, proportionately speaking puffed or unpuffed, they're still pretty small in comparison to me, but full marks for trying.

Actually, there's probably only one & it just wanders back & forwards between several local gardens however many times I am dragged in to remove the sweetie.  I love it when they harrumph off looking thoroughly grumpy.  Real characters.

Why is it that toads are less fazed by being discovered? Frogs always leap away, but toads don't seem to mind being gazed at!

is he a baby ?  he was only about the size of a 50p piece.  didn't puff up for me, maybe he knew i was friendly.   ;D

the one thing i'm really scared about finding is a snake or slow worm.  normal worms i can just about cope with but anything bigger and you'll hear the screams from where you are !

do toadies eat sluggies ??  if so, the more the merrier :P

he's not your normal schemie toadie, he's a nature park toadie, and has better eating habits.

I do like frogs and toads but prefer the latter cos they are not slimy like frogs
