Title: And another one!
Post by: Lindsay on May 31, 2007, 08:24:22
I've been squatting on the forum for a few months now, gleaning lots of useful information and thought it was time I came out and said hi!

I have turned over part of our garden to vegetables, and have had plenty of success - especially tomatoes, beans, potatoes, courgettes, strawberries etc. Being in Provence has its advantages, but also disadvantages - we have very little rainfall so I have found it extremely useful reading all your ideas on how to water efficiently!   I haven't yet managed to master the art of planting for winter yet - the time flies by and it is too late for planting before I realise it. Hopefully though with all your help I'll manage it this year.

Julie

Provence - lucky you.  It could hardly be drearier over here at the moment!  Welcome on board Lindsay.

Very dreary here as well today - my tomato plants are singing because they are getting a real good soaking by the rain!  And me too - but I'm not complaining!

Gives me a good excuse for reading A4A - didn't know it could be so addictive!

If anything could make me move that would be it!

Saddad - I would grow them, but my next door neighbour grows a field full just next door to my gate!  Seems a shame to use up some of my space when I am allowed to help myself - and they're not chemically treated either!  There is nothing like fresh aubergines is there? No bitterness, and no real need to soak them in salt either to degorge them, that is what I appreciate.

I have a couple of really good recipes for use of aubergines - will post them up when I can.

Manicscousers  - Will post some pictures soon.
