Title: Thank you Roy.
Post by: Mimi on June 02, 2004, 21:08:50
Went down to the allotment tonight to take down some more scaffolding boards for my raised beds.  Night before last I had left about a 4ftx5ftx3ft high pile of soil in the very end of bed number 3 waiting to be riddled.  So..... I thought that I would finish it off tonight after taking the planks of wood down.  What did I find :o :D My next but one neighbour Roy had finished it for me. :-* :-* :-* What can I say.  He is a sweetie, and he had a bad heart attack before Christmas, but as soon as our backs are turned he is helping out.  So....no one here knows him but i would just like to say a big THANK YOU ROY. :-* :-*

Neighbours like that are worth their weight eh?
Mine are helpful with plants and watering etc. It is wonderful to be in an environment where 'me me me' is not the standard!  :D

Have a NGOH.

It restores your faith in mankind especially after we have heard about so many Lotties being trashed this Summer.

mind, you have to watch these allotment elves.  I've got one who hoed loads of weedy bits for me earlier in the year.  Popped round the other day beaming to tell me he'd hoed under some beds that are under visqueen at the front of the lottie, but hadn't got round to the back bit.  Lucky that - my bleeding new potatoes are growing under there!  Jackie, my allotment elf, is in his 70s and gets told off for faffing on in my plot all the time - makes no odds.  On saturday I was starting to put major paths in - along comes my elf - "you can't dig a path there - I popped a row of spare beetroot seeds in there earlier".  He was promptly chased out of my plot at point of hoe!  He is a lovely bloke, but infuriating - luckily he takes being sworn at loudly extremely well - probably too well - if he took a huff I might be allowed to get on with it!

Ha ha Gavin. I love H.P. too.  Looks like we all have a little allotment elf somewhere. And thank goodness for them I say. ;D
