I have 6 beautiful little very healthy plants, the important word in the statement is "little". Bonsai Okra perhaps?
Mine never even got out of the packet Jeannine...
Do you want a Blaby Tom by the way... I have given Deb P one to bring down to Barnsdale...
;D
Saddad I do have 2 coming in the mail but wouldn't mind another or two. From your plant sale I think so more than happy to pay for them. That would be just great XXX Jeannine

A gentleman keeps his word, but I will not be heating my wok just yet.
Two Blaby`s growing here thanks to a kind poster-time will tell if I like them
Hey, you keep that wok well polished fella, I have not given up yet !!!
umm- a few prawns, some okra,a few fresh tomatoes-maybe a lime sauce with coriander?-best close down before I drool all over the keyboard ;D
I just potted up my okra into 3 inch pots this afternoon. They are only about an inch high and I have six of them too! ;D
Hi this is the first time I have planted okra and have about 6 little seedlings... know nothing about it except it is good in curry.
Can this plant be grown outdoors once it is big enough? Is there any way to store okra, ie can they be dried and kept? Someone just gave me a packet of seeds so I am trying them out...Lin
I've got 10 plants, they haven't grown much recently, just acquired a couple more leaves.
They are about 6 inches tall.
I'm going to support the small plants when I put them outside with some short peasticks,
but do they need more support when they are bigger?
I have some seeds but they are still in a packet. Can I still sow them?
I tried growing them a couple of times before but they had one flower and then died without setting a fruit!
My okra is almost gone. :'(
They were sown rather early and planted out about two weeks ago, during the hot and dry spell. At that time the 12 seedlings were 8 cm high with two real leaves.
Yesterday I saw that they have not recovered from the heavy rains and I suspect the slugs found them as well. They are in a sorry state and will probably not survive.
But some new seeds are sown and hopefully they will do better.
I can't answer any of your questions, apparently they are difficult to grow and there is a bit of a joke going around from Cleo that he will personally cook a meal on his home if anyone can do it LOL Sorry Cleo. Apparently they start OK grow a while then stop , sometimes they start again, some times they just croak!! Mine are in the stopped and stuck mode again, this is the third time they have done this.
Watch this space XXXX Jeannine
Okra is a swine to get to crop-and outside would be almost a miracle but I am as good as my word-what`s a meal and some hospitality ?-if anyone can give me the secret of getting them to crop well-I would gladly cook them for you UK residents only ;)
Well Cleo, I am puuting some more in today as a back up, these wee devils are really bugging me XX Jeannine
Jeannine-my wok awaits ;D-and when you conquer that challenge I`ll ask you about capers-even I have given up
I only have them preserved!!
1 okra just coming through planted about 2 weeks ago.
I planted 3 seeds from pass the parcel number 4. One has grown and is now about 2" high. Plan to pot it onto a bigger pot in a few days. Thanks to the person who put it in the parcel.
It was probably me, don't hold your breath!!
Got 4 plants al doing great but as ever slow even here in Spain!!
I have two left... they got to about 9 inches tall were looking great.... now they seem to have stopped and are loosing leaves from the bottom upwards. Guess they are on the slippery slope to the compost bin in the sky.
Will maybe re-pot them and see if it revives them at all. But don't dare carry them outside to the shed to do this yet due to the return of winter - the shock will kill them!
