Can anyone help me, weeding the garden today found a small patch of these (photograph below) under a large area of Iris's. What plant do they grow into. Jan.

god, they're wierd, triffids ? ;D
That's a cyclamen ;) But you will have to wait to see which kind :D
Beat me to it Flowerlady, but then you should know eh? ;)
Thanks - will have to move them I would never see them grow under all the iris's, in the corner of my garden. They really do look like nothing I have ever seen before. Do I just move them on to the top of the earth as they are now or do I plant them into the soil - Just wondered. Thanks again. Jan :-[
Those are the seed heads. The stem coils down, and eventually releases sticky, sweet-tasting seeds, which are carried away by ants. They ripen about a year after the plant flowers.
