Title: Foxgloves shrinking.
Post by: Eristic on May 25, 2007, 00:51:52
The foxgloves at the front of my banana plantation look ridiculously small now that the cardoons have discovered the manure.

The cardoons are amazing, have you tried eating them?

Yes I tried eating them last autumn but I don't think my blanching was good enough. Horrid. Yuk spit.

Much more impressive as flowers and there is method in their positioning as they will provide shelter for the bananas which will be far too large to lift and store this winter.

Mine are about six inches high at the moment. I'm not too inclined to eat them, and if I was going to I'd probably make soup with them. I may put one in the site show though, if they shoot up in time. If not, there's always next year!
