Title: And for my next job;...........
Post by: Tee Gee on May 22, 2007, 16:16:05
As some of you might know I grow lots of Narcissii and this creates a bit of a problem with my bedding plants.

I have to wait at least six weeks after flowering before I can cut them back, this is planned for next week.

Took a few pictures of what is in front of me from next week, i.e. after I finish planting out the allotments;

QuoteDo you ever get time to sleep Huh

Oddly enough contrary to some peoples thoughts I don't think I spend a great deal of time in the garden/allotment.

By my calculations I think I spend on average 8-10 hours per week on the physical side of things. i.e I spend about 2-2½ hours each morning  monday to Friday (A five day week)

During the summer depending upon the weather I might have to go down to the allotment either Saturday or Sunday to water stuff that is under glass.

So for the amount I grow I don't think this excessive!

Hallo Sue, I never understand why people fold daffodils foliage and tie it up. To tidy the garden??? I think that the light of the sun have to go in the leaves because that makes the bulb for next year. That will give more blooms. The bulbs are empty after flowering and needs to build up the bulb, that is why it is important not to cut the leaves too early, 6-8 weeks after flowering.
