HI Guys,
Feeling very chuffed with myself i manged to have saturday doing nothing and all today on the plot.
I have manged to get my swede, lettuce, beans and some other stuff planted. As well as get 4 wheelbarrow loads of weeds out for the compost heap and my garlic bed weeded.
Just wondered how everyone else is going typing this as i cant now move todo anything else...

I sowed another row of autumn king today as none have risen from the dead yet. No JOAN suede is up neither but that is last years seed. Got more to sow next week if no change. Transplanted 9 autumn caulis, some white pumpkins for the kids. My son & daughter have half a bed each at the plot. I said they could have in it whatever they wanted. So they now have
3yr old son got: 3 broccoli, 2 autumn cauli, peas, 2 sunflowers, 6 lettuce, 1 burpless tasty outdoor cucumber, 1 outdoor tomato plant.
6yr old daughter got: 3 broccoli, peas, 3 sunflowers, 4 lettuce, 1 burpless tasty outdoor cucumber, 1 outdoor tomato plant, tons of flower seeds
i got another bed planted up in the poly, 1 supersteak tomato, 1 golden sunrise tomato, 4 tasty bell pepper, 2 hungarian hot wax pepper, 4 bush basil between..
also, weeding and dull stuff ;D
NO! Spent most of Friday night in casualty with daughter with suspected appendicitis and the rest of the weekend back & forth visiting her, poor thing! She's a lot better now and hopefully will be home tomorrow. Did nip down to pick asparagus and rhubarb.
Yes I did, I am really weary. Started in garden at 10am and didn't come in for a sit down until 6pm (other than a couple of visits to the loo :)) Next door had a BBQ going and kept passing food over the fence so didn't even have to cook today. Lorna came round and said "You have been out here all day" she then set to and helped me put all the plants back in to a nice cleaned greenhouse.
Early to bed tonight.
Sorry to hear about your daughter Caroline, do hope all goes well.
Lorna.
Hi caroline7758 - sorry to hear that i hope shes ok?
ktlawson & Manicscousers - very jellous now
Lorna - dont forget the radox bath before bed!!
One thing i would say is that my carrots have all popped up as well as bring home another cauli which despite having given bits to people on the lotty i have filled to the top my jam pan loads of florrets soaking in salted water.
did a fair bit, but of course ALWAYS more to do !
Set up my melon bed and planted them out, set up my bean frame and planted out my scarlet emperors (now I see the grass frost warning :( ) potted on all of the tomatoes, aubergines and peppers. Moved the crystal lemon to their final pots. Re sown the beetroot and parsnip which has had terrible germination. Weeded potato bed no. 2, weeded the Jap onions, summer onions, broadbeans & cabbages. Planted out 4 turks turbans, one courgette and three butternut squash. Managed to clear a little more of the bit that I've got left to dig - am so nearly there. Gave away loads of spare plants :D
OH finished cementing the breeze blocks for the greenhouse base ... hoping to glaze next week
Caroline - any news on your daughter ? I had emergency appendicitis surgery in Feb ... :'(
i,m catching up! have planted 7 rows of various cabbage and couli, put beans in sowed blue lake and resowed peas. parsnip seem to be uneaten and carrots are showing hope to plant PSB and sprouts tomorrow but as i start back to work 6am tomorrow might not make it hope your daughter is ok caroline went through that when my eldest son was 9 that was 27years ago!!
marg
Cambourne. I WISH!! :) I haven't got a bath ??? When the husband became too disabled to get in and out of a bath we had to have the bath removed to make room for a shower. I do like having a shower but miss nice long soaks in a bath. When I am on holiday or at my sisters I always have a bath as a treat ;D
Hope your daughter's OK, Caroline. Remember not to make her laugh for a few days, it will make her double up in pain. My elder son had his out at age 9, the younger at 15. When he was in hospital, both my parents were in the same hospital at the same time, all three of them on different wards, the staff were really good, and pushed them in wheelchairs to visit each other!
Never, but I had a great time trying to!

In a word NO! Spent saturday morning doing stuff with girls, then remembered they had a party at 2 that was in community centre by plot so was very happy as thought great, they can stay there, i can go have 2 free hours at lottie - but no, party was mayhem with 30 odd kids running round hall bouncing on bouncy castle. Thought blimey, can't leave them here!! Ran off whiile they were eating to pick 2 luscious strawbs (the first) and have a check.
Went today to pick up key for gate and put my name down for full plot. OH and girls not up for it so went for explore round Wimborne and found lovely little saxon ruined church in a neolithic earthwork so rampaged over that for a while and came home for a roast. Lovely! but useless as far as the allotment is concerned so glad you guys achieved more than me! ;D
As i had not been down the plot for a week(the joy of working shifts)had a day of pure weeding, now my back is telling me half a day would have been better. :'(
MM - I think I achieved everything - OH and I bought a folding Camper on Saturday, and then spent the rather warm and sunny afternoon at local Animal Welfare College - looking at various courses that I might take in the future.
Sunday was spent in the garden, finished all the digging, laid a watering system in last 5 of my raised beds, weed-matted and mulched one area completely, watered all beds and green house, took some photos of birds and cats-and persuaded OH to take me to McDs for my dinner - mmmmmmmmmmm
Great weekend, but still loads to do later today, so better get on

Just to update- my daughter is now home again and feeling fine. They decided it wasn't appendix, more likely a burst cyst, so nothing serious. Thanks for all your good wishes.
Got nearly everything that we had planned to do, really glad to get on the lotty , a week on Friday my son was play fighting and got his jaw broken, most of Saturday at the hospital.(my birthday ) This Friday phone call 10p.m. your sons crashed his car, nobody injured thank goodness. Written the car off and put the insurance up no doubt. So to get down the lotty and chill out for a while was great. (a bit worried what he`d done while we were away!!!!) ::)
Well I planted the first things ever in my allotment!
A few rows of spuds, sweetcorn, aubergines, and cabbages - all donated by my lovely allotment neighbours!
All the hard work has finally been worth it!
Though it will be even more worthwhile if I can keep them alive now.
