I was in the right place at the right time ( I think) Market day,I got 6 flats of peaches for £2 the lot because they were shutting up shop for the weekend and they are very ripe.I have chucked a few but have about 25 pounds.
Recipes anyone

25 pounds??? Sounds like peach wine. Or 50 pounds of peach jam? Should see you through to the autumn....
Yes - like the clemson site, I would bottle if there are any that are still firm.
Jeannine, I would slice some, then open freeze them and use in open peach pie when needed! YUM all those peaches!
Tim, Doris, you have both got my number 1 ideas but... I have three freezers bursting at the seams so that 1 isprobably out and bottling is fine,I have all the gear to do but I think most will be too soft.
I will start with bottling the firmer ones ,then find any tiny spots in a freezer I can which is extremely unlikely, then jam and chutney.
Peach wine sounds good but it 30 years since I made anything like that and I have no gear and no idea.
Why do I do these things !!!

Jeannine,
You do these things because you see an oportunity.
I believe you can sow the peach pits...
How about you make a big generous peach crumble and then invite me round for tea? ;) ;D
Thanks for all the help, all tucked up now ,some in a very big dessert to share with friends, some taken down to pulp for jelly and some frozen in slices for later. I just have to figure out what to do with the 2 chickens and a ham we took out to get them in the freezer !!! XX Jeannine
Peach stuffed Chicken?
You know Tim after valiantly struggling to not eat meat for sometime we have given in somewhat and compromised ,we eat it only once a week,so you know I see a recipe forming in my head with your idea,I will have a little play and get back to you with the result.Thank you XXX Jeannine
