Title: Sowing Peas ( Take 2 )
Post by: Norfolk n Proud on May 19, 2007, 19:15:57
After sowing my Feltham firsts couple of months ago, they got a visit from the Pea Weevil, who proceeded to make a really nice pattern all round the leaves, before i stick in my next batch, what can i do to deter the pesky little buggers? ;)

Pea and bean weevils try dusting with Derris, this worked for us two / three seasons back.

Hi andyc741 I bought mine from the organic shop mail order at http://www.organiccatalog.com/catalog/  cost was about £4, if your order is over £25 its free post, if under I believe it’s about £1 for handling, two / three days to arrive. Not sure about garden centre’s, visiting my local one tomorrow will look out for it and post reply.

Hi andyc741 sorry for the delay regards Derris powder / garden centre’s, Yes it was available at the local ‘GC’, and I’m led to believe most of the national outlets should stock it on the shelves. Hope this helps DD.

don't worry about pea/bean weevil - your plants will still be fine. honest!
