Title: cucumbers...up sticks?
Post by: chlodonnay on May 19, 2007, 18:04:16
We are growing some lemon cucumbers and some mini ones (can't remember the name but from real seed company). they are trailing over the pots but we want to plant them out in the next few days. Do we let them trail them along the ground, tie them to sticks like we have with the tomatoes, or over chicken wire domes?
Thanks!

I`d tie them into some support. If nothing else it helps against slug/snail damage and soil splash

The allotment next to ours grew their cukes on an approx 4' x 3' wooden framed netted ramp (south facing - in the open) and they got loads of cukes - they were giving them away - so we're copying them this year !!  :)
