;D
whooo hoooo, well done and congratulations, now you're going to be really busy ;D
Hee hee ! Just a bit. ;D
At last Joanne. There will be no holding you now, hope you get some good weather so that you can get plotting. Beautiful sunny day here although a bit blustery.. Good luck and keep those blog pics coming.
Lorna.
Excellent news Mrs KP. Tell us all about it? How big, what condition, what's the weed situation, what are the neighbours like, has it got a shed, what you going to plant?????? Go on .... you know you want to. :)
Exciting! Good luck with it, and have fun!
It will all be on the blog Marymary, but to cut to the chase, ickle, weedy but not dreadfully so. There's thistles, dock, and the dreaded marestail but hopefully it won't be too problematic. Apparently we've got bindweed in the border adjoining my only neighbour, the lovely Mr Secretary ! He's not done much to keep the border clear (per the rules), but now he's talking about repairing the fencing. ;D
I've got use of the Committee shed for free, which is handy when like today, it's pishing down ! The hut is in a bit of a state (Can also double up as a loo as we haven't got one on site yet :P). Might have to put up some net curtains. ;D
I'm going to move my gooseberries, and currants up there. I've got the usual beans, courgettes and squash (new to me) almost ready to go in.
It has a tendency to flood in really bad weather apparently, so I'm going to have to build some raised beds for things that I want to put in over the winter, but they can come later. Lovely Mr Sec left me a bag of onion sets overnight, so I'll start them off in pots and get them in as quick as I can.
Oh and I've got a black bucket full of leeks almost ready to be transplanted, so the next couple of weeks is going to be go go go. Just hope we get some decent weather.
The bucket, loo rolls and wellies are in the boot of the car, I'll sacrifice another pair of jeans and leave them in there too so I could go straight there from work ! Handy harry !
Got to go and pick up 3 for sale posts from another lovely lady tomorrow, which will provide the uprights for some screening to keep prying eyes from the road away.
OK must rush, got to watch the FA cup ! Come on Chelski !
;D
CONGRATULATIONS ;D
Woooo hooooo! Congratulations MrsKP ;D
Look forward to keeping up with your progress on the blog ;) Good luck :D
how exciting - so pleased for you KP. Love the new blog !
Congratulations - good luck with the growing -and what a great shed!
Like the blog :)
thanks all, i got up there after the football, and we had an hour's worth of weeding. the soil is just lovely, soft and crumbly. a bit wet about a spade's depth down, but hardly surprising and i'm already thinking about what I can mulch with to keep the precious moisture in !
you should have seen my face though when the OH started trampling the bit he'd just weeded FLAT ! I'd already told him to walk backwards and weed but he obviously wasn't listening !
think i'm going to pop up there on my own in the morning ! :P
Wa hey! Where are the south western allotments? Never heard of them. Pollok perhaps?
But good on you, and happy digging!
aye love, in Pollok Park. Just by the Haggs Castle golf bit on the way to the riding school! there is another site over the other side, but their list was closed so i've never so much as gone and had a look at theirs.
the idea was i go up the lottie, the OH goes and watches the cricket ! not a bad deal.
;D
Well done Mrs KP, do you want a seedy treat or two to celebrate with, send me a PM XX Jeannine
Jeannine, I would love some help digging out !!!!!
TBH love, I've got more than enough to fill the plot already, nicely overrunning the garden and now that I've actually started digging a spit down, I doubt very much if I'm going to get enough thoroughly weeded to get even half of it planted up this year. :'(
..................... but what you got for next year. :P
pm on way.
;D
More pics wanted. Like you said "Who needs sleep eh!"
it's a thing of the past Shirl ! photos on lottie blog. link in my signature.
hopefully next week I can take a pic of something planted rather than just plastic sheeting.
;D
how are you getting on with your football field, or is it rain stop play today ?
rain has stopped play. I was going to catch up on my housework but after helping Mom to shower and setting her hair I decided to do the washing (well that does itself really). Ive spent the rest of the morning looking for whatever has got me bloomin onions on both plots. Have sent Tee Gee a pm to see if he can shed any light on it for me. We had agood day up there yesterday, dug about a yard width across the new plot and planted some polyanths that I'd split up to sit until the autumn. Tony said it would make a change to see a bit of empty ground for longer that 5 mins.lol. we are going tomorrow if the weather permits. I bet you will be getting on with yours eh!. It's as good as going to the gym. Only thing is my Tony is needing more to eat. Have a good day whatever you are doing
it's certainly tightening up my bum and thigh muscles ! I'd forgotten I'd got any !!
The promise of grot weather kept me in the garden today. Well, in the shed, in the garden roflmao.
Someone sent me an email for as much WRM as I can handle. I'm waiting for an email back with directions, may have a car full of poo by tonight !
They do have manure on the lottie, but I've been told it's not that well rotted and to leave it for a year ! So a constant supply of WRM is just too good to pass up.
Trouble is the only farm of it's name I can find on google is in Inverness !!!! Hope it's not that one ! ::)
Just seen this MrsKP congrats, rain stopped play here too, and may your bum muscles stay tightened. ;) ;D ;D ;D
At my age, I need every bit of help I can get cornykev. :P
I'm nearly done and dusted in the garden for the forseeable future. The greenhouses are somewhat overcrowded though, I just keep shoving more pots through the doors and tell them to shove up !
Tomorrow, rain or shine, I am back on the lottie, even if it's just to take stuff up there. I shall not waste a day off in the house regardless of how much housework needs doing !
An ickle bit of rain won't kill me ! Still no word on the WRM. :-[ so if all else fails, I shall create my poo pile with the newer stuff and chuck the WRM on top.
;D
