Title: Oooh, me back!
Post by: carolinej on May 17, 2007, 15:09:20
Rats, rats, RATS!!!!!! >:( >:( >:(

I was just down the lottie, picked up a watering can of water (what else?!?) and my back went. It took me 20 mins to walk the 3-4 mins that it usually takes to get back home. It hurts to walk, stand or sit, but standing is the most comfortable.

I was going to get loads done. It is really frustrating.

Does anyone have any tips or miracle cures, as it usually takes me about 4-5 days to get back to normal. I havent got that long, or the weeds will be chin height!!

On a lighter note, I was in the greenhouse and heard a lot of squalking. In some brambles by my greenhouse, there is a nest of about 6 birds. They had big red mouths and were making a racket. Isnt nature wonderful!

Try alternative heat and cold ( hot bath followed by ice pack or alternative 10 min hot waterbottle and 5 min ice pack )

Get help and flip and remake bed

Sleep with one pillow

I'm in the same boat CJ - mine went Sunday when I bent over to make the bed.

Isn't it strange that simple things make them go and humping wheelbarrows of godknowswhat about don't cause a problem. ???

My advise is the same as other peeps, relax and spend the time counting your seeds ;D

Lie on the bed, gently get your knees in the air with feet flat on the bed, bring knees slowly up to chest, wrap arms around knees, gently rock back and forth length ways (head to toe). Is supposed to help stretch the spine and the muscles that have by the sounds of it gone into spasm.

Happened to me when I was folding the washing of all things, just a sudden slightly sideways bend to catch something about to fall on the floor  ::) :-\

Took about a month before I was completely right, I'm much more conscious now of how I move and bend.

Thanks everyone. Always plenty of advice on here. Off to lick my wounds (well, I would be on the stage if my tongue would reach that far!)

Sorry C no miracle cure but I do hope you soon get some relief from the pain.
I have suffered with back problems for years. I agree with blisters, the simplest thing can cause problems. I try to be careful and as per Doctor's advice always try and do any bending via knees bend :). Take it easy.
