Hello, ;D
my daugher told me today that she is pregnant. ;D I'm so excited! ;D Still early days yet, 35 weeks to go, but I'm sure that will fly by.
Now what will I call myself? Granny, Grandma, Nanna, Nanny, Mamgi (welsh)...........?
cj ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
what lovely news
OH's nieces call his mum 'Grum' ... his dad was 'Gramps'
What smashing news, I wonder what they will call you, I am so very happy for you.. XX Jeannine
Oooh, that's wonderful news, many congratulations! :) :)
Brilliant news Caroline. Many congratulations to you and all your family.
Whatever name you decide you want to be called when you hear your Grandchild say it for the first time you will be over the moon.
Best wishes Lorna.
It's a whole new world (again!) - best bit is you know not to "wish their life away" and you appreciate everything so much more because you know how brief childhood is. Great news!
Congratulations Caroline!! :)
Hope all goes well and what ever you decide to call yourself, make sure everyone is comfortable with it, especially yourself. I personally cannot stand the name Nanna for Granny and refused to use it when my daughter was born. Thankfully neither of her Grannies wanted to be called Nanna.
Oh wow congratulations Caroline ;D
xx
:) Congratulations Caroline
The seeds have germinated ;D
Exciting times ahead, with lots of babysitting to come
Wish you all well.
Lauren
Wonderful news. It's always lovely to hear grandparents being excited. Neither of my parents were that fussed!! Their loss. :P
My grandparents are Nana and Gramps but i do like Mamgi as my OH is of welsh descent. If his mum was alive still i think that's what i would have christened her. ;D
Best wishes to your daughter. I hope she enjoys her pregnancy as much as I did mine and get her loads of palmers cocoa butter - no stretchmarks - miracle stuff!
congrats to you all from me too!!!
wishing daughter and new bump a very happy and healthy pregnancy :)
Oh that is so exciting & I am very envious - don't forget to keep us up-to-date & let us know when you finally become a nanna/granny/mamgi :)
Congratulations!!!! And I thought choosing a name for the baby was the only problem!
Thanks for all your replies!
I showed them to my daughter, and she was really happy to see messages from so many lovely people.
She and her husband both work for the AA, so she told them today. They are arranging for Tom (hubby) to work full time as soon as he finishes uni in June, so they can get things together before she finishes work. At the moment, Naomi is planning on going back to work after maternity leave, but I have a few friends who thought that, but couldnt tear themselves away from the baby so soon. Watch this space ::)
cj :)
Well how many bootees have you knitted overnight??
Jeannine
I am trying to resist the temptation for a few weeks yet. I must admit I find myself drawn to the baby department if I am in a shop ::)
Phil and I are going to buy a cot for the baby, so I have already looked on the mothercare website. I think we will take Naomi and Tom out for the day later on, and have a grand 'cot buying' day ;D
cj :)
I bet you buy something before the end of May, XX Jeannine
::) ::) ::)
cj :)
don't know if you're interested but lidl's got baby stuff, baby carriers etc, coming in next thursday :)
Congratulations Caroline, that's really exciting news! :D
Well, Naomi, Tom and 'bump' came to visit tonight. There seemed to be no development on the 'bump ' front. :(
I am really looking forward to seeing the bump develop. It will be even more exciting when 'bump' can kick.
Oooh, I'm getting soooooooo impatient!! ;D
cj :)
its going to be a l-o-n-g 9 months ;D ;D ;D
ETA 9th January, so less than that ;D ;D ;D
Hopefully will get more accurate date after first scan. Will be able to count down properly then ;D
Saying that, scan said Naomi would arrive on 13th July, I said 31st. I was right, but they were fooled by her big head!!! She got her big head from her Dad ::)
cj :)
:) :) :) Best job in the world, cj - (no matter what the little darling decides he/she will call you! ;)) Congratulations!

Nain (pronounced 9) sounds a lot nicer than Mamgi - got a mental image of a dog (sorry!). In 20-30 years time, I hope to be a grandma! Though does it matter - I get referred to as Mam (I prefer Mum).
Congratulations. ;D
Here are first pictures of 'Bump' ;D ;D

Revised due date 24th December!
Now we really know it's all happening!!!
cj :)
Congratulations! Looks like the typist at Olympia Hospital was drunk though (top left of piccie) - at least she/he got the last 3 letters right ;D ... I'll get me coat!
ooh, a Christmas bump!
double the excitement!!!
(half the pressies though, according to a very bitter friend ::) ;D)
wishing mum, bump and nain-to-be, well :)
Congrats.
Hope all continues to go well.
Congratulations to all involved, and speaking from Grannie-to-be experience, the time seems to fly by! It seems like no time at all since daughter 1 announced her pregnancy, and here she is looking like she swallowed a space- hopper :o ;D
So many lovely baby things in the shops, it's hard not to buy stuff. ;)
Only 28 weeks to go! The first 3 months are out of the way already.
Mind you, I find that life just whizzes by. They reckon that it goes faster the older you get. It's certainly right for me. I wish I could slow it down a bit!
cj :)
congratulations on the brilliant news caroline......................and christmas babies are always special..................or so my mum told me!..............lol
mind you............we must be.............we have to celebrate twice as hard!
I quite agree MM, I always thought the whole world was celebrating my birthday. :) Wished I'd managed to have one of mine on the 25th - nearest I got was 27th.
I was at Naomi's house when the midwife called today. It's all so different from when I had babies.
She was offered a home birth. That wasnt an option for me. She'd rather be in hospital though, just incase there are any unforseen circumstances.
Apparently, they now think that breast feeding prevents ovarian and breast cancer.
People on benefits can get a voucher for free fruit and veg as well as milk.
We're all looking forward to the 26week scan now. Hopefully bump will co operate and we will know if it is Isobella or Ieuan.
Oooh, I'm all excited again now ;D ;D ;D ;D
cj
Don't rely on the scan sexing the baby too much. I had a scan and was told I was having a girl on my third one. We were so excited having two boys already this was the icing on the cake. However when I gave birth the midwife flawed me totally saying you have a healthy BOY!!!
It didn't matter as Joshua was healthy and well but the girly babygro's were never worn!!!!
Hope all are keeping healthy and well.
