I bought some yellow limes from Tesco the other day. They are smaller than normal lime and tastes similar to lemon. It's full of pips and I wondered if I can raise a tree from pips and eventually get fruits.
Does anybody know about yellow lime? The fruits were import from India.
It may grow from a pip Tora but unlikely to be much good... assuming the one you've got has been improved in anyway... look for a graft mark just above the soil level..

I think I'll sow a few pips and see what happens. I have nothing to loose, I guess! ;)
most shop bought citrus fruit comes from trees that are crosses, including oranges, grapefruit, tangerines etc.
Some, including some limes are not crosses, and would come true from seed. You might be lucky and have a fruit which is from a species tree, specially if its full of seed as this normally gets bred out as a bad commercial quality.
I would try the yellow lime and see what happens.

The fruits really are full of seeds. Hope it's a species, not hybrid. :D
I really like the yellow limes. It's much sweeter than normal limes, which I find a bit too sharp.
Will let you know if I the pips germinate. :)
