Title: Reassurance needed
Post by: Tin Shed on May 13, 2007, 20:51:03
I was down the lottie, -  wet ,muddy and standing in the drizzle and decided that I was really happy! Is it the beginning of the end or I have I worked out the meaning of life?

I haven't a lottie but I could be seen in mygarden in the quite heavy rain today planting some busy lizzies. Great to find the rain has softened the ground at last.

I too was in my garden sowing seeds in the rain today, just couldn't face a whole day without doing anything gardeny  :D

Me too weeding on my hands and knees at the side of a raised bed, covered in mud in the pouring rain, it felt great and the weeds just popped out, and to think that somewhere in the world some poor souls have to sit in a lounger in the sun by the side of a pool with a Martini. Isn't life sad for some people !! Jeannine

went down at 8 yesterday morning, came home for an early lunch at 11 (was given some fresh eggs from a neighbour so had boiled eggs and soldiers ;D) went back and carried on digging another bed and hoeing until rain finally stopped play at about 3. came home looking like a drowned rat but feeling v content, changed out of wet clothes, and had a little catnap on the sofa with a cat in the crook of my arm keeping me warm. a blissful day ;D

we're not mad, we're enlightened :)

Enough....................................Enough!

Whoever is praying for rain they can stop now before everything gets washed away. It will take 7 to 10 days for this lot to soak down into our clay, if it keeps raining we shall have floods, seeds will rot in the ground.

I too went down after work and sowed spinach in the rain. However if I'm totally honest, I went down to see how much rain was in my water butt as my shed roof is a pathetic 3'x2'! I was disproportionately happy to see it 1 quarter full! Yup - definitely the meaning of life! ;D

All water butts are full now, so Im happy if the rain stops for a bit.  I put some bean in on Sunday evening, and the soil was really WARM.  A few breaks in the clouds and warm sunshine will bring everything on a treat.  And the lawn is green again.
